How to Make The Best Pizza Rolls with a Simple Recipe
For this recipe, you will need pizza dough. The easiest and quickest way is to just buy pre-made pizza dough from your local grocery store. However, making it is not as difficult as one might assume. For example, the ONLY ingredients you need to make pizza dough are water, flour, active dried yeast, olive oil, and salt. In the short run, you will be better off simply buying dough that is ready to cook with from a grocery store or maybe even a bakery. Just make sure you are getting pizza dough as other doughs will not bake the same.
When making your pizza rolls, you can include the marinara sauce and a little amount of cheese on the inside by placing a dollop before rolling the dough. You must be careful not to break the dough and spill the insides. However, it is easier to make them without putting the cheese and marinara sauce inside while they back. This way, you can just use the sauce as a dipping sauce or pour it over your pizza rolls.
1 cup sliced pepperoni
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasonings
Grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Marinara sauce (optional)
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Roll pizza dough into a rectangle about 10 x 14 inches. Cut into equal sized pieces that are easy to roll.
Place your pepperoni slices across the dough. Cut into bits to make them easier to incorporate.
If you want your sauce and cheese also on the inside, sprinkle a light layer of marinara and cheese before rolling up the pieces.
Starting with the long end, roll up pieces. Place rolls on lightly greased or parchment baking sheets.
For the glaze: In a small bowl combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. (brush over rolls)
Bake for 15min or until browned on top. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese if desired.
